Lobo Seascape
Overview
Lobo is a 4th class municipality in the Province of Batangas, lying on the province’s Southeastern coast.
Many attractions can be seen in the town. It features white sand beaches. Lobo Town also has a beautiful coral and marine life on some of its beaches that is ideal for snorkelers, scuba divers, and underwater photographers. The town has protected mangrove forests and fish sanctuaries. You will surely enjoy your stay in the town.
Some of the attractions that can be found in the area
It is one of the 24 lighthouses erected in the Philippines during the Spanish Colonial period. This century-old lighthouse can be spotted at the top of a cliff overlooking Verde Island and Mindoro.
The garden consists of living corals near the shore of one of the beaches of Lobo. It can be clearly seen during the early mornings when the water is clear and the tide is low. It has been acknowledged as a fish sanctuary.
Tulay na Busog
It is located in Barangay Nagtoctoc. This is known as “Biak na Bato” and has a giant footprint on the mountain behind the river. It is well known for its cold water which continues flowing all over the year. It is good for a barkada/family outing or picnic.
Ulopong Falls
It is located in Barangay Sawang. During the summer months, the place is bustling with activity when vacationers from Manila and nearby provinces visit the place to take a dip in the cool water of the falls.
It is one of the finest beaches of the area. The one-kilometer stretch of white sand beach has a gradually sloping ocean floor of up to about two hundred meters before the sudden drop.
Fiesta and Festival
The annual fluvial procession in honor of the Patron St. Michael Archangel held in time for the celebration of the town fiesta every May 8 is one of the festivals celebrated by the people in Lobo.
Another one is the Anihan Festival which is part of the festivities during the municipal foundation day celebrated every month of September. This year, the Anihan Festival will be held on September 27. The Anihan Festival features street dancing and a parade of carts and sleds bearing agricultural crops produced locally. Sublian, Juego de Anillo, Kundiman Fiesta and Parade of Muses participated in by different barangays and civic organizations are also some of the highlights of the festival. The Anihan Festival is first and foremost a thanksgiving celebration for the people’s bountiful harvest. It is likewise a tribute to the farmers whose efforts are a significant factor in the success of agricultural development in Lobo.
Location
Lobo has a distance of approximately 148 kilometers from Manila and 36 kilometers from Batangas City, the provincial capital. Its boundaries are Batangas City to the west, the town of Taysan and Rosario in the north, San Juan on the east, and the Verde Island Passage on the south.
Trivia
The name "Lobo" came from the Tagalog term for wolf, which is lobo. Indigeous groups living in the area are called Lolobos.

How to get there
From Manila, drive along South Luzon Tollway up to the south end and take the Star Tollway/Batangas Expressway all the way to Lipa.
From Lipa, drive to the town of Rosario, then drive straight ahead through the town until you reach Taysan Town. Turn left at the T junction going to Lobo Town. When you reach the national road, turn left and drive to Dagatan and Lobo.
