Maquinit Hotsprings
The small but mysterious falls in the town of Concepcion is one of best stops while in Coron, Palawan. Located 17 km away from the Poblacion, Concepcion Falls is an ideal place to spend leisure time with family and friends. The water of the falls is really cold that you can have a refreshing dip. One good thing is that the whole environment is good to capture with your lens. The sceneries offers simple pleasures that only nature can afford to give.
Adjacent to the falls is the Maquinit Hotsprings, another wonders of Coron. Maquinit means "hot", meaning that the hotspring is literally hot. Getting closer to the spring, you will notice some smoke determining that the water is really hot. The water from the spring come from the dormant volcano, Mt. Dalara with a temperature of 40 degress celcius. There are three pools in the Maquinit Hotspring but only are were original. The bigger pool serves as a catch basin of the two smaller springs.
One good thing about Maquinit Spring is that the locals say it has healing powers. :) Operating hours is 6am-10pm. Best time to go is 5pm onwards. There is an entrance fee of 100 pesos.
How to get there
Well, you really never have been to Coron if you don’t have to get the chance to see Concepcion Falls. It is accessible by land and water transportation. To go there by land, you can take the buses or jeepneys plying from Busuanga to Coron everyday and vice versa.
