Paadjao Falls
The quiet province of Marinduque is blessed with magnificent waterfalls surrounded by foliage of forest and cool shade of trees. It is one of the reasons why many tourists love the place. Aside from the breathtaking view of the falls, trekking to the falls offers you a pleasurable experience and a trip back to nature.
Here are the systems of waterfalls that Marinduque is proud of:
• Norada Falls is located at Sitio Paadyao, Barangay Bokbok, Mogpog, Marinduque. It is a series of gently cascading falls culminating in a 10-foot deep pool of crystal clear water - an ideal place for picnicking or camping. Another waterfall located in the place is the 15-foot tall Paadjao Falls. Hunt for nature-formed bathtubs downstream and enjoy their Jacuzzi-like effect.
Trek to Paadjao – the trail to the falls is about 30 minutes from the main highway of Mogpog. The trek is about 10 minutes. If you see any local around, just ask their assistance and they would gladly help you.
• Going to the town of Boac, you can witness the stunning view of Ginaras Falls and Kabugsakan Falls. Ginaras Falls is a 100-meter-high falls with six adjacent waterfalls in the mountainous area of Barangay Duyay. Kabugsakan Falls is ideal for picnics and nature-based activities; it is a popular spot among the locals living close to the poblacion of Boac, the provincial capital.
• The rustic town of Sta. Cruz also possesses a variety of waterfalls; one is the Kawa Kawa Falls. Located at Barangay Bangcuangan, the falls is a good place to spend leisure time where you can unwind and appreciate a relaxing view of nature. Miniature waterfalls can also be found within the area. Some are accessible and some need short climbs.
A Cute Name – The Kawa Kawa Falls got its name from “kawali”. It is because the base of the falls forms a small pool that looks like a big pan.
• Another lovely falls of Marinduque is found at the town of Buenavista. Bulusukan Falls stands at the foliage of forests of Barangay Bagtingon. It offers a good spot during summer.
Trek to Bulusukan Falls – the trail to the falls is about 30 minutes from the main road. Be careful because you may encounter slippery rocks during your trek. It also has challenging parts where you are required to scale a rock wall while grabbing a bamboo pole for balance.
