Honestly speaking, when I first heard that a small municipality in Negros will be putting up a zoo nature and adventure park I was hesitant to support the idea because of the expertise needed to maintain and care for the animals.
Even the City of Manila is always under constant pressure to upgrade the welfare of the animals at the Manila Zoo.
A similar undertaking somewhere in Southern Negros is always under attack because of the dilapidated conditions of some of their animals.
Enter the Municipality of Amlan.
When I first entered the Dreamland Nature and Adventure Park located in Barangay Tambojangin, I was reminded of a similar venture in Maasin, Southern Leyte.
Both were located in the far flung mountainside, far away from major human settlements and pollution and both gave the animals an ample amount of space for their respective living conditions.
With all that said, I want to congratulate the Municipality for the risks and sacrifices it took in making this vision into a reality. Many were very skeptical (including me). At least now people in Negros have a place to visit to see exotic animals instead of traveling to far away places.
