Port Miller and Lighthouse Tower is one of the historic tourist spots to visit at Brooke’s Point. The lighthouse was constructed by Sir James Brooke and used as a concrete tank for potable drinking water for the natives. Today, much of the area is being used by the new lighthouse.
Sir James Brooke was part of the British army, an explorer, and named the governor of Sarawak in the 1830s. He discovered Brooke's Point when he landed on the tip of the island of Palawan and came across native inhabitants of the area.
