Vigattin Radio continues to cover the campaign and elections period, and now that the electoral campaign has officially started, we are more vigilant than ever. Today, our guests were Prof. Samuel Chua of Lyceum University of the Philippines, Prof. Melchor Erise of Arellano University, and Dir. James Jimenez, spokesperson of Comelec. We also spoke with Mr. John Ruero of Philippine Society for IT Educators (PSITE).
We discussed the current standard of IT Education in the Philippines. I just noticed that IT has one of the most flexible curriculums, adapating and coping with the ever-changing technology. Good thing that our academic professors and technology enthusiasts are up to date about new and emerging technologies in the market. In fact, Mr. Ruero talked about the upcoming 15th PSITE National Convention to be held in Cebu. It is a three-day event that will gather people in the government, in the academe, and in different industries. It is one of the biggest IT conferences in the country.
Also, we talked about the upcoming midterm elections. Dir. Jimenez addressed the issues pointed out by Dr. Pablo Manalastas two weeks ago. He said that the software that we will use in the automated elections is not exactly pirated, and any dispute that arose between Comelec, Smart Matic, and Dominion is now under negotiation. Comelec is also keeping a vigilant eye on the candidates to see if they are following the campaign rules set upon them.
Vigattin Radio, on the other hand, is keeping tabs on everything IT-related and we're delivering it to you by giving you relevant news, discussions, and updates. Again, stay tuned every Saturday in the Vigattin Radio Program at Radyo Inquirer 990 AM every Saturday, 10-11 AM.
