Vigattin Radio, started the year with another insightful episode as it shed light on the quality of education in the Philippines.
Our commendable guest was Mr. Florence Sangrenes, the President and CEO of Mathrix Education Inc. A former Mathematics teacher, Mr. Sangrenes envisioned a company that would provide everyone a competitive, quality form of education and teach people about the real value of learning and education.
Mathrix, which name was derived from 'Math' and 'tricks' and a wordplay for 'matrix', is a network of qualified and skilled tutors which offers tutoring services for elementary to college and even to professionals. Their program subjects include everything from Science, Mathematics, English, Management, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Engineering to Voice lessons, Guitar lessons and many more. One can contact Mathrix at 0915-272-4033, at their website mathrixeduc.com, or by email at emathrix@gmail.com.
The episode’s discussion revolved mainly on the quality of education in the country that is mainly affected by the nation’s mindset about learning. Most Filipinos, as Mr. Den said, think that studying is the solution to the national dilemma of poverty. Little do these people know that the Philippines does not need people with high salaries but people with passion and love for their work.
Before the episode ended, Mr. Sangrenes stated that education is not defined by sitting inside a classroom doing scholastic activities. Education is, and ever will be, more of experience and self-learning. Education etymologically means learning by yourself, learning within one's self. A value every Filipino should realize.
