Situated on the northwestern coast of Luzon, La Union is the gateway to the Ilocos Region. With its strategic location, the province has become the business, education, and government center of the Ilocos. Not only is La Union the region’s center for trade, but it has also become the fastest-growing tourist destination because of its great natural wonders like Fagg Reef, which can be found between the Lingayen Gulf and the South China Sea.

Fagg Reef is one of the best destinations for divers who want to see the beauty of nature beneath the waves, as swimming here will enable you to encounter rarely seen wildlife like sharks, rays, and eels.  The creatures that inhabit Fagg Reef are as colorful as they are diverse.

Besides the natural seascape, Fagg Reef has also been a World War II tank graveyard as three M10 tanks were dropped off a barge here sometime before the end of the war.  It has since become a habitat for various marine life.

By air:

The fastest ways is taking a plane to San Fernando International Airport and then take rented transportation to the town of San Juan.

By land:

From Manila, buses from companies such as Times Transit, Philippine Rabbit, or Farinas Trans have direct trips to San Fernando, La Union, Vigan or Laoag.  From San Fernando, take rented transportation to the town of San Juan.
