Daraitan is a barrio nestled within the Sierra Madre Mountain Range in Tanay, Rizal. It is a quiet and peaceful town in the midst of the mountain. The 3,150 people of the mountain barangay still possess the characters of a traditional barrio: carless streets, donkeys transporting cargoes, roosters as the barrio's alarm clock, wells and springs providing drinking water to the community, and organic farmland where most of the fresh produce is sourced. The townsfolk always welcome tourists with a smile. They are hospitable, friendly, and kind.


Daraitan River is located in Tanay, Rizal. It is awarded as the cleanest river in the Philippines. Whoever sees this stunning river and mountain landscape will be amazed with its natural beauty. On the way to Daraitan River, you can see different spots like Kalinawan Cave, Daranak Falls, and Batlag Falls. Another cave is also near the Daraitan River, the Balete Cave, named after the Balete tree standing at its entrance. Don’t forget to visit the 350-year-old Daraitan Chapel which was built by the Franciscan Missionaries in 1662 and have been restored and maintain at its present site and time.
