Davao is a dynamic, highly-urbanized city in the Philippine south and its generous share of natural and historical attractions has made it the center of tourism in the southern island of Mindanao. Even with its significant population and industry, it is still full of natural wonders like Talomo Beach, which has historical significance as well.
Talomo Beach is among the most beautiful beaches of the city and is a prime tourist attraction where people can enjoy many beach and underwater sports and activities. It is quite scenic and the fine white sands make it a hit among vacationers seaching for sun and surf.
Tolomo Beach also figures prominently in the city's history, especially during World War II when it was used as a naval beachhead by both Japanese and American forces. Also, sunken ships are open for exploration only some distance away.
How to get there
From Manila, most airline companies offer regular daily flights to Davao, which takes about an hour and a half or so. Once in Davao City, land travel takes about one hour from the airport.
