Sibulan Airport, also known as Dumaguete Airport, is an airport serving the general area of Dumaguete City. The airport is located in the municipality of Sibulan, near the border of Dumaguete City, because there are no more spaces available for a domestic airport in the “University City”.
The airport is classified as a Class 1 major domestic airport by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the body of the Department of Transportation and Communications that is responsible for the operations of not only this airport but also of all other airports in the Philippines except the major international airports.
The length of the runways of Dumaguete Airport is 1,870 meters (6,136 feet) with an asphalt surface. Its direction is 09/24 (technical term). Cebu Pacific flies from Mactan Airport (Cebu) & NAIA Airport (Pasay, Manila) to Dumaguete Airport and vice versa. Philippine Airlines flies from Manila to Dumaguete and vice versa.
