Of the 90 islands and islets making up the Calamian Island Group, Sangat Island still stands out as one of the majestic islands in Palawan. Sangat Island is approximately 700 square-hectares and includes three white sand beaches edged by sheer limestone cliffs, dense jungle forestation, and a 455-meter mountain peak which prevails as the second highest elevation in the entire Calamian Island Group.
Home to a Wondrous Creation
Sangat Island is home to a diverse variety of flora and fauna. It has tropical fruits, a nut plantation, and a line of lush mangroves at the western coastline. Also, the island has two popular diving spots: the Sangat House Reef, and the Sangat Coral Gardens that is abundant with colorful sea life.
Sangat Island is also the sanctuary to tropical bird species including the currently endangered Tarbon, the Palawan Hornbill, talking mynahs, the Palawan Peacock pheasant, and the Philippine cockatoo. There are non-feathered species too such as the little Calamian deer, the Palawan Ant Eater, wild boar and Macque monkeys.
The Sangat Island Marine Park and Sanctuary is a protected habitat for marine plants and animals of all varieties. This includes the waters and reefs surrounding the Sangat Island.

How to get there
By Sea: The overnight ferry voyage from Manila to Coron – the closest ferry terminal to Sangat – takes a total of 16-hours from embarkation to arrival and provides an inexpensive, leisurely, and culturally enlightening travel alternative to a typical domestic airline flight.
The largest and safest passenger ferry company in the Philippines is WG&A. Ticketing costs vary dramatically depending upon ship-board accommodation requirements and amenities, travel season, and more. It's also important to note that ferry schedules and ports-of-call do appear to change frequently.
By air: Philippine Airlines PAL Express (formerly Air Philippines), Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines, Subic Seaplane and Zest Air have travel routes from Manila to Busuanga.
