Puting Buhangin is a marvelous tourist destination on the southwestern part of Pagbilao Grande Island in Pagbilao, Quezon. It literally means white sand and it boasts the crystalline water that surrounds it. The beach is also known as Lukang Beach,  named after Atty. Peter Lukang, a Chinese businessman who owns it.

Even though its private, Puting Buhangin is available to the public during day-trip visits. One can access it via a boat or by land. Upon reaching the cove, one can also see the amazing limestone rock formations that is famously known as Kwebang Lampas.

Puting Buhangin is certainly the most scenic of all beaches in Padre Burgos and Pagbilao where one can swim freely. Tourists will admire the breathtaking view of the cove and they will enjoy discovering this covert paradise.The place is hidden by limestone cliffs and cannot be easily seen until you walk around the corner.

One will enjoy the fine white sand and the pristine waters that alternate shades of blue azure to green emerald that makes it simply beautiful and looks perfect in the eyes. The place is perfect for swimming which one can see some coral formations. On the seabed. Guests will also like the shoreline which is well-maintained.

Visitors should prepare an entrance fee of P50 and they can also rent a cottage but it’s best to shade under the trees with your thin blanket.

Getting There:

From Manila to Pagbilao, Quezon

Visitors who want to see this amazing place can take a bus bound for Lucena (you can ride on Buendia, Kamias or Cubao) and tell the bus attendant to drop you off at Lucaenea Grand Central Terminal. From there, you can take a van or a jeppney that is bound for Pagbilao. One can also ride a bus that goes to Bicol and just tell the driver that you are going to Pagbilao.

From Pagbilao to Puting Buhangin

By Boat: Upon reaching Pagbilao, you may rent a boat from Barangay Bantigue. Boats are docked at Sitio Malunggay just near Carlos Beach. You may also check Silangang Nayon at Brgy. Bantigue, they offer boat rentals.  On the other hand, you may go to Pagbilao Wharf (Daungan) and rent a boat there.

By Land: At Pagbilao Market terminal, you can ride a jeepney en route to Barangay Polo. Drop off at the jeepney terminal located in Barangay Polo. Upon reaching Barangay Polo, you can just walk either hire a tricycle cab going to Puting Buhangin.

 Where to Stay:

If you want to stay overnight, you might just stay in the hotels nearby because the owner of Puting Buhangin doesn’t allow overnight stay. You should leave the beach at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
