Among the many scenic place in the island of Boracay, Puka Beach stands out as one of the most alluring beaches anywhere in the archipelago. One needs to travel to the northmost part of the island by foot, trike or boat to gain access to this wondrous place.
Compared to the other bustling and populated areas of Boracay, Puka Beach is tranquil and less crowded. The clear deep blue water crashing agaist the white sands of the beach set against the bright blue sky is truly a sight to behold.
Interstingly, the beach is named after the puka shell, cone snail shells which have been washed up on the beach. These shells are used by the local people to make trinkets, souveniers and jewelry which are then sold to visitors as a means of livelihood.
