As a tribute to the heroism of Filipinos since the war for Philippine Independence, a monument of the flag still stands at the peak of Mt. Pinagbanderahan in the Quezon National Forest Park. The site in the province of Quezon is of great historical significance where the flag of the Philippines was raised during the country’s revolution.
Pinagbanderahan is a monument at the heart of the Natinoal Forest Park built in 1938 under the commonwealth government. This is called Pinagbanderahan for its historic role during World War II. It offers a perfect vantage point to view Mt. Banahaw, the islands of Marinduque and Mindoro, as well as the major towns and city of Quezon, like Lucena, Pagbilao and Tayabas.
