The spectacular island-province of Palawan has long been known for its many stunning natural wonders that have long since been zealously protected by its inhabitants. One clear example of the province's pledge to protect and live in harmony with nature is the Palawan Butterfly Farm that can be found in Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
Puerto Princesa is blessed to have a variety of butterfly species that are all in good care. The farm houses different kinds of butterflies both from Palawan itself and other parts of Southeast Asia as well as a garden that is resplendent with a dazzling variety of plant life in their small yet enchanting garden. The butterfly farm comes with several pebbled walking trails with lush flowers and shrubbery within the enclosure. The garden showcases various flowers of different colors and shapes that add even more life to the place. In another part of the farm, visitors can also see other species of insects and animals like scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, beetles and a lot more.

Getting Around
MultiCab and tricycles are the most common means to get around Puerto Princesa. As in Manila, jeepneys usually have standard routes which they ply. Tricycles on the other hand are fairly limited to certain areas and would not be able to go very long distances.
The bus terminal is located a few Km outside the city center.
For touring, it would possibly be a good idea to arrange special transport whether it be a jeepney or, for more comfort, air-conditioned vans or AUVs. This way, you will not be subject to the hassles of public transport availability.
