The Libon-lawit Falls is three waterfalls connected to the same stream. The three waterfalls have their own beauty which allure tourists. The first is the 120-feet high "Tiklas Falls" that has a 30-meter diameter pool. Second is the "Kilubag Falls" which serves as the major attraction and the third one is "Bangbang Falls" which measures 70-feet high. The falls is located 13 kms. from Poblacion, Gingoog City.
Another great waterfall to see is the Aya-aya. It is a small waterfall located in the heart of Lugait. From the jump-off point, tourist will pass through foot trails up to an elevated place with a pool of water. A climb further it is require to have the sight of this scenic waterfall surrounded by a diverse of flora.
Located in Brgy. Tagbalogo, Naawan, 60 km. west of Cagayan de Oro, Kanapolan Falls is a 20-feet high waterfall. It can be reached by a single motorcycle and passes a river path full of large rocks with minimal flow of water. Another falls in the town is the Lubilan Falls located in Barangay Lubilan. The falls is an approximately 12 feet with moderately strong waterfall.
Surrounded by boulders of rocks, Catanico Falls drop into a big pool suitable for swimming. The falls is located 10 kms. away from Cagayan de Oro City.
Sinabayan Falls is a relatively strong waterfall that measures approximately 12 feet in height. Many local people go to this place to take a dip on its cool and clear water. It is located in Brgy. Poblacion, Sugbongcogon; 71 kms. East of Cagayan de Oro. Another falls in the area is Mimboaya. It is a strong waterfall that is very accessible. It measures approximately 10-feet in height and it has a pool where one can jump directly into it.
Bakid-bakid Falls is a 100-foot-high waterfall accessible either by a jeepney or a motorcycle. It is located in Gingoog City.
Situated in a lush forest, the beauty of Mother Nature can still be experienced here in Sagpulon Springs and Falls. One can still hear the chirping of birds and be amazed by the sight of wild flowers and virgin-forested trees. It is a natural swimming pool with clear and cold water cascading from the mountainside to its basin. Facilities like cottages and resthouses were provided for the visitors making it more appealing for picnickers and those who want to relax. At present, it is not operational as a resort.
How to get there
By land, sea and air, Misamis Oriental is very accessible. Major airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, Air Philippines fly to the Lumbia Airport in Cagayan de Oro. Several buses travel to and from Cagayan de Oro from almost all major cities in Mindanao.
