Mab-o is a unique mountain possessing a panoramic view of the province of Antique and also harboring the mysteries of the past as implied by a huge oyster shell believed to have been used as a bathing tub of a legendary woman.
Mab-o, with an elevation of 475 meters, is ideal for mountain trekking and has been scaled by local mountain climbers above sea level. Located at Barangay Mag-aba, one could jump-start from Malumpati Resort to see the exquisite view of Pandan Bay.
The site is about a two-hour hike from Malumpati. Nature lovers will be delighted to see the nearby pygmy forest, while cultural enthusiasts would love to see the Tumaca’s legendary giant clam shell in the mountain.
This site is believed to be the place where the legendary Tumaca together with his tribesmen lived, the same place was where Tumaca lived with Maria Kastila, the wife of Governor General Fuentes whom he abducted.
At present, a big oyster shell is found in this mountain which people believe has been the bathing tub of Maria Kastila.
