Planning on a trip? Experience the different natural wonders and pure beaches in the island of Sulu. For those longing for exciting vacations, Sulu has a lot of beaches comparable to Sipadan Island and Mabul Island beaches, as well as Boracay beaches.

Tired of those boring and usually crowded beach resorts? Try the Igasan Beach, one of the popular beaches in Sulu. It is the best destination for many tourists who want a break from the busy urban environment. The view of the beach is stunning, with white sand and baby blue water.

A few bloggers declared Quezon Beach as the best beach in the Philippines, even better than the world-famous Boracay. And judging from their photos, it is not too hard to agree.

Igasan was derived from the name of the community leader during the reign of the Sultanate of Sulu. It is also known as Quezon, in honor of the Philippine president Manuel L. Quezon when he swam here during his visit to the area in the 1930s. It is the Tausug way of honoring visitors going to their place.

Quezon Beach is classified as a "hidden treasure", located in Patikul Sulu, a nearby town of Jolo town. It has a fine powder-like white sand. It is a paradise for many tourists who witness the place.

Real Quezon’s Beach Side Seafood Market

For many people dreaming of a place with a seafood market close to the beach, Real is a good place for you, a far side of Quezon that faces the Pacific Ocean. Here you can have barbeque while watching the perfect view of the beach.

You can find here a wide variety of fish and seafoods at a low price. There are also different shells including baby clams, large clams, and even escargots which are pretty cheap. Other seafoods including prawns and shrimps are available here. There are also stalls of vegetables, condiments, and many more.

How to get there? Quezon Beach is approximately 20 to 25 minutes from Jolo. Upon reaching Zamboanga City, you can go by air or by sea. In sea route from Zamboanga City, it takes 6 hours to reach the port of Jolo if you take the regular boat. If you want to reach Jolo early, you can either take the fast craft in a day for a few hours; that is faster than the regular trip at night. Boats for Siasi Island, Bongao Island and Sitangkai Island are also available in a regular trip. Just about 25 minutes from the town of Jolo in Sulu, Igasan is found in Patikul town, accessible by motorcab or jeepney.

Igasan Beach must be included in the list of the most incredible beaches in the Philippines. Two thumbs up!
