Overview
Bunga Falls is a twin falls located in the town of Nagcarlan, Laguna. The twin falls is placed abreast each other. It has an elevation of around 600 meters. People are required to trek down for 5 to 10 minutes before they find the location of the falls. Anyway, the trail is very accessible. There is an entrance fee but its very cheap. The cottages are also available for rent at around 150 pesos.
The water cascades from the head of the twin falls to the basin where people can enjoy the cold and clear water. Tourists can take a dip into the pool which is very refreshing and relaxing. The place is ideal for swimming, but according to local people there is a creature living in the pool and taking strangers away. So, people are advised to take care or swim with a companion; however, it's up to you if you will believe in the story or not. The falls has a deep part of about 10 meters so be extra careful about that.
Based on the old townspeople, the falls used to be a measure of manliness for men in the town; they need to jump from the top of the falls down to the deep basin. It was one of the old traditions of the town.
