Davao's Famous Crocodile Farm

Are you looking for the best tourist attraction in Davao City, the largest city in the Philippines? Well, you should not miss visiting the Crocodile Farm where you can find so much fun and excitement in watching saltwater crocodiles.

Crocodiles? They're wild and vicious, right? In Crocodile Farm, however, these huge reptilian animals are tamed and disciplined. When you visit this park, your fear in crocodiles will be overcome. You will realize that they are also nice and friendly like the other zoo animals. They are well trained and catered for public viewing. You can feed them by throwing of food to their cage from a distance. You will also be given a chance to touch them, especially the little ones, with the supervision of the staff and tour guides.

You will meet Pangil, the most famous crocodile in the park. Being more than 60 years old, he earned his reputation as the oldest in the place. Because of that, he has the privilege of having his own cage and pool. He has a length of about 18 feet.

The Crocodile Farm in Davao was owned by Mr. Philip Dizon, including the freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. It was not made for business until he realized that crocodiles are raised in United States of America not only for public entertainment but also for the production of bags, belts, and shoes. In November 1995, the government vested the authority and permit to Mr. Philip Dizon to operate the Davao Crocodile Farm. On August 18, 2005, the world-class Davao Crocodile Farm was opened with the help of consultant Dr. Gilbert Buenviaje. Today, it is run by a group of businessmen headed by Mr. Sonny Dizon.

The park has deigned modern, facilities and equipment recently. Davao Crocodile farm is a breathtaking place to explore. There are welcoming and friendly prompts to make sure that tourists will get fun, enjoy,  safe, educational, and interactive experience. Aside from crocodiles, the zoo also has a wide display of butterflies, birds, snakes, lizards and monkeys. There are bird and crocodile shows to entertain the visitors.

The entrance fee is 150 pesos for adults and 75 pesos for children. It is open everyday from 8am onwards.
