Cuyo Fort
Considered as one of the most ancient and unique forts in the Philippines, Cuyo Fort is a historical naval structure that was built during the early part of the Spanish colonial period and its purpose is to protect the people from their enemies.
Fort Cuyo was constructed and finished in 1680. The original complex of stone and mortar was a square with four bastions. The present complex which occupies one hectare is a solid rectangular edifice with walls 10 meters high and 2 meters thick and has a tall belfry and watchtowers. Within its walls are the church, the convent and the adoration chapel.

From Manila, there are daily flights to Puerto Princesa in Palawan and Iloilo on Panay Island. From Puerto Princesa and from Iloilo, Cuyo can be reached by ferry going out on most days of the week.
