How to get there
Chawa Cave is located in Mahatao in Batan Island, one of the major islands in the province of Batanes. The cave is four kilometers from Basco (the capital of the province) and accessible through the boulders of Chawa Point in Mahatao. From Manila, you can visit the place by a direct plane ride via SEAIR (Southeast Asian Airlines) or you can go first to Laoag City then fly to Basco Batanes by the same airline company. If you want to travel by sea, from Manila you can go first to Ilocos Norte which will last around 10 hours. Then from Ilocos Norte, there are ferry companies that ply routes to Basco Batanes.
