Caluya may not be as well known as a tourist destination as Boracay or Puerto Galera, but it is rapidly becoming recognized as a tropical paradise blessed in natural wonders, drawing in more and more visitors every year with truly unique eco-tourism attractions.

Caluya is made up of numerous islands, each with unique character but all are enchantingly attractive with white beaches and lush vegetation surrounded by clear, sparkling water.  Vast stretches of sea provide probably the best sites for scuba diving and snorkeling, where one can glide underwater amongst the vibrant sea life like sea turtles, tropical fish, corals, anemones and occasionally even dolphins.

Above the water, sightseeing would consist of miles upon miles of white sand beaches, underground rivers, natural springs, caves, mangrove forests, and even places where the locals farm seaweed.

Meals would consist of local delicacies of freshly caught fish and unique seafood, like the tatus, a variety of coconut crab, and tirik, a local sea urchin.

The locals of the Caluya Islands themselves are  reasons to stay as they are warm and friendly to visitors.  They are very industrious, as shown in their dedication to fishing and seaweed farming, endeavors that require much effort.  The people also are very protective of their environment as they take care of the mangroves of the islands and they maintain many fish sanctuaries throughout their territory.

Caluya is indeed a unique, fascinating place with much to see and do, a paradise just waiting to be discovered.
