Aurora Province can be found on the eastern part of Luzon, and it is a land with spectacular geographic formations and varied terrain which hosts many amazing natural wonders. Ampere Beach is one such wonder, as has become known to many experienced adventurers as a place quite like no other.
Located in the town of Dipaculao, Ampere Beach is a part of the extensive and diverse coastline that Aurora Province has an abundance of, stretching miles upon miles on either direction. This same coastline hosts Baler, with the top surf spots in the country, Dinadiawan with its fine, white sand coastline, and then there's Ampere Beach, a place that is simply on a league of its own.
Far from being the ideal image of a beach with fine, powdery sand and gentle waves lapping the edge, one is greeted with an almost primeval sight: smooth, rounded rocks of many shades and sizes cover the shore as far as the eye can see. At a distance one can see equally eerie looking rock formations being pounded by often high, merciless waves. For a moment, one can easily imagine what the world would have looked like before life even began as the beach itself would look desolate, devoid of life.
Ampere Beach also is hardly the ideal beach for one to swim. There are often large waves that makes any attemp to swim in it tricky to say the least. However, people go to Ampere Beach not for the usual tourist activities. Adventurers go to Ampere Beach to catch a glimpse of this truly unique landscape. One can just marvel at this truly raw, primal place where the sea batters the rocky shore, with all the subdued emotion it entails. Adventurers capture all these with their eyes and the landscape is burned int their minds. Photographers have long admired it and have tried to capture this raw and wild look on their cameras.
To get there, one needs to take a tricycle from Baler to Sabang Beach, then hire a motorized banca to reach the beach. A long trip to be sure, but the sights and memories will be well worth it.
