Alubihod Beach

Being an island province, Guimaras has an extensive coastline, and along this majestic stretch is Alubihod Beach, widely recognized as one of the best beaches the province has to offer. Its powdery white sand shores are a sight to behold and touch, and the beach is seen as a great alternative to Boracay itself. The beach is tranquil and scenic, like coming straight out of a romantic movie. It is probably how a tropical paradise should look like, with the blue and white waves crashing on the sands and palm branches gently swaying in the breeze.

Alubihod Beach

Guimaras is a small but beautiful province in Western Visayas in the Philippines.  As an island province, it can be found between the islands of Panay, Negros, and the provinces of Iloilo and Negros Occidental. Guimaras is especially known for its mangoes, regarded far and wide as the sweetest in the world.

Besides the mangoes, Guimaras is now also becoming renowned for its beautiful beaches.

The beach is great for relaxing and having fun under the sun.  Lots of visitors just enjoy lounging and sunbathing all day, or having picnics on the beach.  The waters are ideal for swimmng, diving, snorkelling and boating.  The sea still harbors a wealth of marine life and is best explored with experienced guides.

Probably one of the best activities offered at the beach are island-hopping tours to the many small islets that surround Guimaras itself.  One particular point of interest is Lawi Marine Turtle Rescue Center in Turtle Island, where conservation efforts are underway to save our local pawikans from the many dangers they face.  You get to have the chance to meet some of them too.   Other points of interest are Tiniguiban Island and Ave Maria Island.

To get there, one must catch a flight to Iloilo City. From Ortiz Wharf, a pumpboat will take you to Jordan Wharf. You will then need to take a jeep or tricycle to Alubihod Crossing, then another to the beach.

Take the chance to go to this tropical paradise for an adventure of a lifetime.
