Palawan is a place that is filled with natural wonders that picture a perfect creation of a generous Creator. This island paradise never disappoints a tourist and always has something new to offer. One exciting thing that I discovered is the Mount Tapyas. There is one thing in this mountain that made me remembered my once tour in Mount Samat in Bataan – it is the cross at the top of the mountain.
Rising 210 meters above sea level, Mount Tapyas is one of the mountains that dot the beautiful island of Busuanga. Climbing this mountain is not as challenging as the other hikes, but rest assured that it will be one of the worthwhile treks that you will have.
Mount Tapyas has been developed into a tourist site and over 700 stairs have been erected that lead you up to its summit. Trekking the mountain is about an hour so be sure you have enough water to quench your thirst. Don’t worry, there are several shaded areas if you need to stop and have a rest.
The fascinating view of the laid-back town blows away all of your tiredness. At dawn, you will see the glow of the cross at the summit as it watches over the town. For me, it is one of the best things to explore in Coron that will leave an impression to every tourist.
