Unearthing Antique Philippines

Hiding from it's sanctuary, Antique has it's own quiet paradise hiding from it's natural preserved province-way atmosphere. Antique is a province from the Philippines located in the region of Western Visayas. The province's capital, San Jose, is located in the western portion of Panay Island and borders Capiz, Aklan and IloIlo to the east, whilst facing the Sulu Sea to the west.

The province was known before as Hantík, the local name for the large black ants found on the island. The Spanish chronicles, influenced by the French, recorded the region's name as Hantique, which was then read as 'antique (silent 'h'). Soon, people pronounced the name into its present name "Antique"

Antique is perfect for vacationist who wan't to skip the heat this summer.
