The town of Bangui in Ilocos Norte is a tourist paradise providing another must-see destination for tourists. The unique beauty of Abang Falls is located in the southwestern region of Barangay Lanao, along its mountainous hills. The falls is a veil-like water cascading down through boulders and stones like the Hinulugang Taktak in Rizal.

This stunning falls is a plant sanctuary surrounded with wild ferns and a variety of air plants. It is the best place to spend your very relaxing and pleasurable leisure time.

Because Abang falls is one of the suggested itineraries in Bangui’s attractions, here are some directions on how to witness this one-of-a-kind destination.

Transportation:

By Land:  Take a bus trip from Manila to Ilocos Norte, which will last for about eight hours. Among the bus companies plying this route are the Philippine Rabbit, Partas, Dominion, Florida, Farinas, and Maria de Leon bus lines.

By Plane: Take a direct flight from Manila to Laoag via Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines. Travel time is about an hour. Flights are usually at night, so better make the necessary adjustments on your itinerary.

From Laoag, take the Laoag-Cagayan route. About 5 minutes after Burgos town proper, a directional marker on the left side of the road will lead you to Bangui. Then from Bangui town proper, take a jeepney or hire a tricycle or private vehicle going to the falls.

Getting Around:  Ilocos Norte is best explored on foot or riding the calesa, the traditional horse-drawn carriage that promises a unique experience in itself. Tricycles are also available for traveling short distances. Going from town to town would mean taking a bus, a mini-bus, or a jeepney.
