Oriental Mindoro is the country's emerging eco-tourism destination, as it is full of the wonders of nature in both the land and in the sea.  One attraction of interest is Tamaraw Falls, which is 423 feet tall and located just by the side of the road in the town of Villaflor and San Teodoro.


Tamaraw Waterfalls gets its name from the tamaraw, a species of water buffalo that can only be found in the province of Oriental Mindoro. A resort can be found at the foot of the falls where anyone can rest and take a dip in the pool below.  The pool contains cold, crystal-clear spring water from the numerous natural springs higher up in the mountains, and it offers a welcome respite to the weary traveler.


The locals go here for picnics and hikes.  Visitors go here for the view and the chance to bathe in the relaxing, cool water.


The breathtaking sight of Tamaraw Falls, with its cool white water cascading from the side of a mountain, is a spectacle one should not miss when visiting Oriental Mindoro.
