A 423-foot waterfall consists of a series of waterfalls is one of the natural wonders of Puerto Galera continue to still draw the attention of many visitors.

Tourists stop over at the Tamaraw Falls to relax and spend leisure time. There is a resort at the foot of the falls where guests can have a refreshing dip with an affordable price. There are also tables for picnics and shower rooms!

Why Tamaraw Falls?

The falls got its name from a species of buffalo which can only be found in Oriental Mindoro. It is among the country's endangered species as it is being hunted by people who are after its meat. Proclamation No. 692, signed in 2004, made October 1 a special working holiday in the province in celebration of the Tamaraw Conservation Month.

Trip to Tamaraw Falls

By Sea: To get to Tamaraw Falls from Batangas, one would have to take a ferry ride to Calapan and Puerto Galera.

By Land: By land, there are jeepneys that regularly ply the Calapan to Puerto Galera route.

How to get to Puerto Galera

Oriental Mindoro can be reached through land and sea transport. From Manila, take the Batangas-Laguna-Tayabas (BLTB), Tritran, and other Batangas-bound buses to the Batangas City pier. From there, take the super ferry boats bound for Calapan, which has several trips per day, or those bound for Puerto Galera. A roll-on-roll-off (RO-RO) ferry is convenient for those wishing to take their private vehicles.

In Mindoro Oriental, a number of jeepneys ply the capital from the neighboring towns and to the interior.
