Five Reasons to Love Ginatilan!

Inambacan Falls

Ginatilan is a slice of paradise in Cebu. The town is overflowing with the bounty of nature that gives visitors much pleasure and appreciation of how gifted the province is. I come up with five reasons why Ginatilan, though a quiet town, continues to draw the attention of visitors.

1. The 3-level Inambacan Falls is a must-see for nature lovers and trekkers. It is located in Barangay Calabawan. If one has to unwind and relax, the soothing and cool waterfall is the best haven to spend leisure time at.
2. For Ginatilanons, Millennium Park is a haven where they can relax and have a splendid view of the ethereal beauty of sundown.
3. Ginatilan Lighthouse is one of the few lighthouses in the entire province. Like the other lighthouses, it is erected to aid seafarers and navigators at night.
4. For those who love stage plays, the Municipal Auditorium offers you the inspiring Sydney Opera showcasing the ingenuity of the Ginatilanons.
5. One of their proudest attractions is the Marine Sanctuary established to safeguard and protect the coral reef system.

The sanctuary serves as habitat, breeding and nursery ground for fish and marine organism, preventing the constant physical disturbance, in order to allow coral reef fishes and other marine organisms to reproduce and grow to maturity, with unhampered reproduction purposely to increase the number of larvae to grow into juvenile and mature fishes, and to circulate within the Marine Sanctuary and in the traditional fishing areas and eventually increase the potential of fish catch of local fisher folks.

How to get there

By Plane: From Manila, there is a daily flight going to Cebu City.
By Boat: Cebu City's domestic port is the country's busiest. Cebu City is home to almost 80 percent of the country's passenger vessels. The country's largest shipping lines, namely WG&A, Sulpicio Lines, Trans-Asia, George & Peter Lines and Lorenzo Shipping Lines, are headquartered in Cebu. Large passenger ferries with a capacity of 2,000 to 4,000 passengers ply the more distant routes such as Manila, Davao, Butuan City, Zamboanga and Cagayan de Oro.

From the airport, you can ride a multicab, jeepney, or taxi. Simply ask around for which route to take. They are available all day round and cover most of the nooks and crannies of the city. Just be sure you know what part of the city the jeepney will take you to.

Ginatilan is accessible by various land transport vehicles from the South Bus Terminal in Cebu City.  It is a 4-hour bus ride from Cebu City by the following:
•    Ceres and Rough Rider buses via Barili route.
•    Ceres and Sunrays buses via Oslob route.
•    Rented cars and vehicles
